In November 25th, 2015, the roundtable “The necessity to engage: the Eastern Partnership and grassroots involvement” was organized in Chernivtsi by the Centre for European Studies of Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași and NGO “Quadrvium” together with Department of History, Political Science and International Relations ChNU.

The roundtable was structures in 3 panels:
1. Brief assessment of the EaP;
2. Internal challenges in Ukraine in the light of EU-Russia latest tensions;
3. Ways of engaging the local community. A European perspective.
The event was aimed at critical evaluation the EU’s role in its Eastern vicinity in the light of the latest political developments. It drew together civil society representatives, scholars, researchers, students, experts who were encouraged to exchange views, share opinions and recommendations on the progress of the EaP.

The roundtable is a part of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Project “The Eastern Partnership under strain – time for a rethink?” (EaPpeal, check more at http://www.cse.uaic.ro/Jean_Monnet/EaPpeal/index.htm). The expert of “Quadrivium” Nadiia Bureiko is a member of the EaPpeal project team.
