The summer University is organized by Strategic Policy Institute Stratpol and is tailored for young professionals and experts from governmental institutions (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defence), international relations and security policy NGOs, academia and media.
The Strategic Policy Institute Stratpol has given an excellent opportunity for researchers in the field of security to expand knowledge, to discuss and to share their vision concerning security issues during the Summer University for Young Professionals organized in the premises of Armed Forces Academy in Liptovský Mikuláš (Slovakia). During the week 21 participants from Ukraine, Hungary, Slovakia and Czech Republic attended lectures given by more than 15 lecturers and visited Slovak air forces base in Sliac. Dr. Oksana Dobrzhanska, expert of Quadrivium, was among the participants of the University.
During the events envisaged by the University a wide range of issues related to security was discussed, such as: the EU Global Strategy; Current Challenges of the South China Sea; NATO’ Warsaw Summit; NATO – Russia Relations; Black Sea Security; ISIS and Turkey; U.S. Foreign Policy and NATO in the Light of 2016 Presidential Campaign and the others. Possible scenarios and solutions of the conflict in Donbass were also discussed during the summer university. The organizers also organized debate on propaganda in Central Europe.
All the participants highly evaluated the programme of the University.
