In September 29-30, 2014 the experts of NGO “Quadrivium” Inna Kubay, Nadiia Bureiko, Oksana Dobrzhanska and Viktor Muderevych together with colleagues – experts on historical and political sciences from Chernivtsi National University – participated in the international conference “Borderland Indentities in Europe: Historical Roots and Recent Tendencies”.

In September 29-30, 2014 the experts of NGO “Quadrivium” Inna Kubay, Nadiia Bureiko, Oksana Dobrzhanska and Viktor Muderevych together with the colleagues – experts on historical and political sciences from Chernivtsi National University – participated in the international conference „Borderland Indentities in Europe: Historical Roots and Recent Tendencies”.
The participants of the conference defined theoretical and methodological principles of identity notion and analyzed the levels of identity within challenges and threats to the idea of Europe today. The particular attention was drawn to the borderland identities in the system of international security (case study of Bukovyna, Halychyna, Donbas in Ukraine and Bavaria in Germany). Multiculturalism of Chernivtsi as a capital of Bukovyna region in the historical perspective was discussed, focusing on the role of history and its influence on the modern tendencies of the regional development.

The Ukrainian experts also had a meeting with students, PhD students, University teaching staff, scholars and scientists as well as journalists and public activists in order to discuss current political and social situation in Ukraine, and the events in the Eastern region in particular.
