The application for the 10th edition of the International Neighbourhood Symposium is now opened!

The 10th edition of the International Neighbourhood Symposium (INS) this year will be held between 11 and 17 December in an online adapted format instead of an in person celebration in Istanbul. Regardless of inability of in-person meetings due to pandemics, we have created an exciting, interactive programme promoting active engagement and active citizenship with great expert facilitators and speakers. As previously, the INS will be jointly organized by Quadrivium, the CIES and “Promotion of Intercultural Cooperation” NGO with leading partners from Europe and the USA.
This year the INS’ focus will be on assessing the role of civil society in the COVID19 era across the Eastern and Southern Neighbourhoods of the European Union and on a number on themes, including COVID19 and CSOs; Youth Empowerment; Gender Dynamics; Intercultural Dialogue; and Sustainable Development/Sustainable Cities. Each of the aforementioned sessions will be led by an expert facilitator on the topic who will lead the sessions with a short presentation of the topic and will engage the participants into a discussion in order to engender policy recommendations as to how to strengthen the enabling environment CSOs engaged in the particular topics and how to promote greater civic engagement.
Apart from the sessions dedicated to the Civil Society Engagement in the COVID19 Era, the INS will also include three sessions of a more political nature as is usually the practice of all previous editions of the INS. This year’s themes are Countering Russian Malign Influences; Black Sea Dynamics; and The Mediterranean in Transition.
